Metadata consists of keywords that you liston your page, your page’s description, leads, alt text for idols, and name tags for yourpage.Now, it’s important to know that all thismetadata is behind the scenes. If you’re looking at a web page, you willnot encounter any of this metadata actually rendered on the page that the consumer or that yourweb tourist watches. It’s all in the background, and it’s all forthe search engines. So, first of all, keywords. Keywords are very important to metadata. You want to make sure that after you do yourkeyword research, you’re applying the very best keywords that are focused to your sheet , nottoo wide-ranging , not extremely very specific, and you wanna make sure that you use a lot of thoseto captivate tourists to your page.So, two things to remember about keywordsare that they areyou have an unlimited number of space, but don’t abuse it, and youwant them to be focused to your material. Next is the description. The description is what will actually showup in your Search Results Snippet as Google bellows it. So, the description is your search result. You got the search right here and you’ve gotthe listing, one-two-three listing. This is your snippet. Now, it used to be that the descriptions wouldshow up exactly as you had entered them into the snippet, but now Google will pull froma lot of different areas to create that snippet. So, if you have a really well-written description, a lot of that description should show up in the snippet. Headings. You’ll appreciate origins in your informant system. One of the things that a great deal of people dofor search engine optimization is they’ll check source code. And all you have to do to check source codeis CTRL+ clink or right click on the page, and you have the option to view source code.And you can see all of the code that’s behindyour website, which includes the metadata. So, leaders will be listed in your sourcecode as H1, H2, H3. And these are all really important becausethey mostly tell Google what the hierarchy of your content is. An H1 is more important than an H2, is moreimportant than an H3. And, you know, a great deal of time, they’re directs, they’re bolded, so they show how your material is organized on your website. We likewise have alt text for images.This one is … There’s a little debate about how to do alttext. I know even among the team now, we mighthave a little disagreement about what exactly alt text should be. But let’s say you’ve got a characterization right here, and we’re gonna, you know Don’t judge my skill abilities, but we have a treewith a sun rise in the background. Well, normally, alt text is supposed to describeexactly what that idol is. So, it’s mostly describing the portrait, it’snot hold any more detailed information about it. So, “youve had” … The alt text “wouldve been”, you know, Tree at Sunrise. Now, a great deal of time, there’s a deeper meaningto that persona than just what it demo in the physical sense.And so, there’s also another metadata fieldthat you can add to an likenes, it’s the long description province. And in the long description field, you canprovide more info about that video. So, maybe this is a tree at sunup rightbefore a rainbow showed over the Grand Canyon. That would be where you can add content thatwould maybe connect that image precisely to the content on your page. Title tags. This is a big one. A pile of the search engines will use differentlengths of claim labels, but you wanna keep your title between 60 to 70 characters.And you might wanna do a little research onthese. There’s a lot of speculation that title tagsare changing, that Google is changing how they cause title calls for pages. Frequently, entitlement tags were given a lot ofweight in search engine rankings and they were used to mostly determine the contentof the sheet. But now, there’s evidence that Google waspossibly forming claim tags with additional information from H1s and descriptions. And they may be updating title labels or addingtitle calls where there were no title labels before. So, there’s a lot of discussion going on inthe SEO community about that right now. And, you are familiar with, some firms will createtitle calls for their pages and they’ll interpret precisely as they scheduled them, and other companieswill create title labels and they’ll show up slightly different than how they have themon the page or even quite different. So, that’s, kind of, a contentious itemright now, but really keep your eyes open to see how that discussion progresses. What else is there? We have, mostly, all of your primary metadatalisted out right here, but what else can influence your SEO? Well, because of how Google is now creatingnew snippets, it’s increasingly important to make sure that you have good content onyour page and make sure that you have a great website datum design. So, basically, what that necessitates is when someonevisits your page, make sure that it’s really easy to find the content that they’re lookingfor, your navigation is very intuitive.And a lot of that comes through a wire-framingprocess and we do a lot of that work here at The Net Impact. Other things you might look at are ADA compliancefor those with disabilities who might be looking at your website. I imagine part of that is having your alt tagsfilled out, but there’s also a lot more that goes into ADA compliance as well. You wanna make sure that you are minimizingyour validation wrongdoings as well. So, if you have a 404 flaw, sheet not seen, you wanna make sure that you’re going through and checking your website, and that everything ofyour ties-in have contributed to a good sheet, and that everything is well connected on your website. Ultimately, your URL. That’s probably one of the hardest thingsto change because you have to register a new orbit. But make sure that when you’re starting awebpage or if you’re redoing an internet site and you can potentially change the URL, make surethat your URL still fits exactly what you miss for your content, and that your URL, in and of itself, will be intuitive to people who wanna know exactly what to expect to findon your website.That’s about it for our discussion of searchengine optimization.
