In the previous video, we discussed crawlability. We looked at all the waysyou can make sure that certain parts of your siteare not accessible to search engines. All of this can be a bit tediousif you don’t have a technological background. That’s why we take care of a lot of aspectsof crawlability for you in our Yoast SEO plugin. In this video we’ll explorewhat the plugin does. You’ll learn what alternatives you haveto make sure that Google can indicator everything you want to showin the search results. And, of course, that search engines stay away from everything you don’t wantto show in the results. Let’s start with the basic puts. In the Search Appearance fits, you can determine your default values for every type of contentavailable in WordPress. For every type of content, we ask you whether you crave search engines to put itinto the search results. If your SEO skillsare a little more advanced, you can also tell Google not to employ imagesfrom the post into the index, to not archive the post( which symbolizes Google cannot showa previously saved facsimile of the sheet ), or to not show a snippetin the search results. We admonish you to stay away from thisunless you really know what you’re doing. But it’s good to know it’s there for youto use if you need it. You can not be allowed change your settingsfor poles, but also for sheets and tags, and so on and so forth.If you want to movebeyond the simple crawlability aims, the Yoast SEO plugin also allows youto easily edit your own robots.txt file. We previously discussed robots.txtin the previous video. It’s a datum in which you tell the search enginewhich URLs on that site it’s allowed to visit. Okay, so now you know how you candetermine your crawlability gives for a material categoryand for individual announces( or sheets, etc .), and where to edit your robots.txt.But is it possible to quickly checkyour indexability? Yes, it is! There are actually several ways. Let’s start with the easiest one. If you go to your WordPress dashboard, you’ll learn the Yoast SEO announces overview. There, below the published SEO composes, you’ll look a implement calledthe indexability check by Ryte. This tool gives you feedbackon whether your homepage is indexable.If it’s not, you need to fix this immediately. If it is, you know for sure that the search engines are able to indexat least part of your site. The last plugin feature that is importantwhen it comes to crawlability is the Search Console setting. Here, you can connectwith Google Search Console and check all the crawl lapses that Googleencountered when crawling your locate.
